Anti-Spam Abuse Engineer in SF


Spam is everywhere and I'm looking for an engineer that will take care of Anti-Spam abuse in San Francisco.  Do you know this person?  It's worth something if you do!

REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 3-5+ years experience in anti-abuse, anti-spam, anti-phishing, anti-fraud, anti-virus, or NOC/SOC environment.
Experience at an ISP, social network, or wireless/mobility provider preferred.
Excellent knowledge of Windows, Linux, Messaging and Networking.
Working knowledge of regular expressions and shell scripting.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work in a highly dynamic and agile environment.
Experience in behavior analysis and/or pattern recognition a plus.
Knowledge of Perl and MySQL a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will participate in 24/7 monitoring customer systems for new threats and use best practices to ensure these threats are stopped quickly
Provide customers with weekly and monthly reports detailing new threats and attacks, how those attacks were stopped and what impact they had on the customer system
Work closely with our Engineering and Professional Services teams to provide customers with a multi-pronged approach to accuracy

Searching for Spam Fighting Software Engineer (SF)!

I'm in need of a spam fighter software engineer in San Francisco!  Help me find this person in your network and I will reward you !

REQUIREMENTS:

Ø Have solid experience writing software in Perl in a UNIX environment.  (Solid experience in C is also a plus.)
 Ø Have an Undergraduate or Graduate degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering or a related field or equivalent years of experience.
 Ø Be very comfortable with fundamental Computer Science concepts such as algorithms, data structures, memory usage etc.
 Ø Be very comfortable writing regular expressions.
 Ø Have a good understanding of SQL and relational databases (i.e. basic SQL query optimization, schema design, etc)
 Ø Enjoy developing software with a security mindset in an environment with an active adversary.
 Ø Be able to think clearly under pressure.
 Ø Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 
OPTIONAL:
 Ø Experience writing email related software.
 Ø Experience in the security industry.
 Ø Experience with data mining and analysis using Hadoop or similar technologies.
 
This position is based in South of Market and near all transportation.

This position involves maintaining and improving our software while responding to constantly evolving threats. 

Use a combination of technologies including a large MySQL databases and servers, daemons, and tools written in Perl and C.  
We are looking for someone who is passionate about joining the fight against messaging abuse.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Writing software in Perl and C against a MySQL database.
 Ø Data analysis to serve as input to automating the real-time detection and identification of abuse trends and anomalies in the message stream with a high degree of accuracy and few false positives.
 Ø Maintaining an awareness of new technologies and trends in security, keeping an eye open for new ways to stop emerging security threats in spam.

Senior Systems Analyst in San Francisco

Position Summary*
The incumbent, reports to the Systems Coordinator, under Senior Director of network operations, serves as the expert-level hands-on support analyst for enterprise UNIX/Linux systems, distributed systems, middleware infrastructure, application interface development, and communication interfaces related to enterprise applications. Minimum Qualifications* Education/Work Experience: Bachelor¿s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field;  minimum seven years in computer/technology-related fields with progressively increasing responsibilities; minimum five year¿s experiences in systems administration in an enterprise Unix and/or Linux environment (with 100+ managed systems); minimum of three years experiences with system and application design and implementation; minimum three years in implementation and support of production database, Web, systems and networking applications. 

Knowledge: internal operating system technology; knowledge of computer operations and hardware, and network communications theory; applications programming techniques and procedures; knowledge of network operating system and network architecture, configuration, and protocols; client server technologies.

Specialized Knowledge: current computer operating systems and system technology

Specialized Skills: effective interpersonal  and communication skills; effective written skills; proficient in advanced Linux/UNIX shell or Perl scripting.

Abilities: use operating system languages as defined by the campus and ability to perform systems level programing in a distributed, networked environment; use performance monitoring software and interpret results; perform preventative and remedial maintenance to operating system; interface/integrate campus defined operating systems with software and other systems; evaluate existing and proposed systems and recommend upgrades and/or research and survey new products and/or releases, such as productivity tools; establish and document operations procedures modifications analyze and resolve multi-faceted technology problems.
Preferred Qualifications Possess a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Certification preferred. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and 5+ years of experience from an enterprise-wide academic support environment with the following:

    Broad knowledge of computer technology to support wide range of computing projects
   Thorough understanding of technology including but not limited to IP, web, encryption and authentication
   Excellent knowledge of system, network and communications security
   Working knowledge with SSL, VPN, firewall, IDS, PKI, NAT, SSH and other network security tools and protocols
   Familiar with CGI and middleware technology
   Thorough understanding of computer hardware and software technology and able to provide interface and communication solutions
   Familiar with Oracle database, clustering technologies, network configuration, and performance tuning
   Excellent knowledge of up-to-date versions of Linux operating system, able to perform UNIX/Linux system diagnostics and performance tuning and able to write UNIX shell or PERL scripts
   Familiar with Microsoft Windows server and server administration
   Working knowledge providing VMware and cluster systems administration and support
   Understanding of system and networking protocols and topologies including but not limited to TCP/IP, LDAP, SAN, NAS, and ISCSI
   Ability to work independently
   Demonstrated problem-solving skills
   Experience in UNIX application development
   Solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure NFS and NIS, Samba/SMB, LDAP; can use nslookup or dig to check information in the DNS; understands network routing/VLAN concepts/best practices

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

·         Develops or assists in developing RFPs. Analyzes or assists in analyzing RFP responses. May provide well thought out recommendations for software application selection.
·         May monitor and coordinate the work of external software consultants ensuring quality completion of deliverables within established timeframes.
·         Ensures high technical standards are met throughout Shorenstein’s Software Development Life Cycle process including compliance with applicable procedures.
·         Coordinates with Software Quality Assurance Manager in determining quality processes to be applied on a project by project basis.
·         Maintains current knowledge of IT issues and trends and uses and shares information as appropriate.
